Jeff Creighton, Fox19 Meteorologist and a long-ago Indian Hill grad, can’t seem to get away from his Alma Mater. For the past 10 years, every semester, he volunteers to visit Indian Hill High School’s videography studio to speak with Denny Dupps’ students about the news broadcast process and his specialty, meteorology.

Mr. Creighton helps students understand what a typical day’s activities are in a broadcast station. He demonstrates how to interact with the “green wall,” showing that the IHHS facility is capable of producing a very similar weather report as is done at the news station. He talks about meteorology, how to forecast the weather, and nuances of his daily responsibilities.

He also stresses to students how lucky they are to have a facility of this quality in which to learn – he says there are several small market news stations that aren’t as well equipped as we are!

Thank you, Mr. Creighton, for providing our students with such a valuable learning addition to our broadcast journalism curriculum, as well as a glimpse into the real world of broadcasting.
