We are social beings – and living, learning and working in society by necessity means we will be interacting with others.

But did you know there are skills that can be taught and learned that can help each of us make the most of those interactions, maximizing our ability to work with others in a productive, complementary way? Called “Emotional Intelligence,” this knowledge provides us with the ability to understand our own and others’ behavior and skills to manage interactions in ways that maximize each person’s unique talents.

On January 23, 6:30-8 pm, in the Indian Hill High School Multipurpose Room, Indian Hill resident Garth Jay will conduct a free interactive workshop entitled From Me to We which teaches practical tools for building Emotional Intelligence. Some of the concepts the workshop will explore include:

- Everyone’s personality is unique - as unique as your fingerprint

- However, there are preferred patterns of identifiable behavior

- As we understand these patterns, we can better understand ourselves and others, leading to stronger relationships.

Please come and join Garth – hopefully, you’ll have some fun and learn a little more about yourself and others!

This program is presented as part of the Indian Hill School District Mental Wellness Series. The last workshop for 2017-2018, presented in conjunction with the Indian Hill PTO, will feature Dr. Rich Gilman, Psychologist at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, who will explore how to help your children (and yourself) build “grit” to reduce stress and anxiety and increase your chance of success.
