A strong mental wellness program is just one of the ways Indian Hill Schools works to support all students. The District’s Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) framework for mental health services has been so successful that Psychologists Amy Van Strien and Dr. Janie Gardner, plus our onsite Children’s Hospital Therapist Rachel McCoy were asked to present at the National Association of School Psychologists last week in Chicago. The room was packed to capacity, with people even sitting on the floor to hear their helpful and insightful information.

The presentation provided details on the three-tier program used to identify students at risk; the roles of school-based mental health counselors; the care model used in Indian Hill Schools; and an overview of results, successes, and challenges.
