Eighth grade student Lauren Campbell and senior Kori Frooman recently received awards from the National Scholastic Arts competition.
Lauren’s photograph earned a Gold Key at the regional level in January and a silver medal in national competition. Her entry competed with the best artists in grades 7-12 throughout the country, as there is not a separate category for middle school students. Thus, her artwork was judged against high school students – including students enrolled in Advanced Placement classes.
Kori’s artwork also earned a silver medal in national competition.
The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards competition is the nation's longest-running, largest, most prestigious recognition program for creative teenagers in the visual and literary arts.
