Technology is changing quickly, and artificial intelligence is accelerating that change. At Indian Hill Schools, our focus is not simply on whether students use technology, but how they use it with purpose. That philosophy is at the heart of an informational evening for all K–12 parents:

We will focus on three key areas: screen time and effective technology use; K-12 AI scope and sequence; and AI literacy.

Screen Time and Effective Technology Use
First, we’ll discuss screen time and effective technology use. Technology should enhance learning, encourage creativity, and give students meaningful opportunities. We’ll share how our educators work to ensure devices are used intentionally and appropriately throughout the school day.

K-12 AI Scope and Sequence
Second, families will get a first look at our new K–12 AI scope and sequence. AI learning should look different for a young elementary student than for a graduating senior. Our progression introduces concepts at developmentally appropriate stages while building students’ critical thinking, responsible use, and understanding of these emerging tools.

AI Literacy
Finally, we’ll discuss why AI literacy can provide our students with a competitive advantage. Colleges and workplaces are rapidly adapting to artificial intelligence. We want Indian Hill students prepared not simply to use these tools, but to understand when and how to use them responsibly while maintaining the creativity, communication, judgment, and critical thinking that technology cannot replace.

This work is ultimately about preparing students for opportunity. We want them ready not merely to participate in the future, but to help shape it. We look forward to seeing you at this important event.
