From Coach Steve Reger:
While most of our kids were spending last Saturday getting ready for exams, our Mock Trial team journeyed out to Miami to take on teams from all over the state in the 3rd annual Mockhawk Tournament.

After having placed both 1st and 2nd at this state-wide tournament the past two years, we had very high expectations going into this year's tournament.  But, given that a stomach bug is currently tearing its way through the team (which caused us to have to leave 25% of our kids and coaches behind), we weren't sure what we would do.

Well, we went 11-1 (scoring decisive wins over the likes of Sycamore, Madeira, Mason, and St. X) and - for the third year in a row - placed 1st and 2nd overall!  We also won 8 of 12 possible individual awards.

Specifically, Rena Lenchitz, Emma Reyering, and Gheric Lindberg (all Juniors) and Antonio Vega-Torres (12) won one Outstanding Witness award each.

And tournament co-MVPs James Orr (12) and Albert Kwon (11) each won two Outstanding Attorney awards.

Having seen us place 1st and 2nd for three years in a row, the coordinators of this tournament joked that they may have to change the name of the event to the Indian Hill Invitational.

I hope you'll join me in congratulating our kids on such an impressive showing (especially just 48 hours away from the onset of exams)!
