In January, Indian Hill High School was one of two schools in the Cincinnati area to host “Meet Your Army Day.” This is an initiative started by the U.S. Army in January 2017, organized by Indian Hill resident Steve Lee, one of the top U.S. Civilian Aides to the Secretary of Defense.

The purpose of the program is to build bridges and connections between the Army and civilians. They are hosting events such as these across the U.S., speaking to students in large groups. The purpose is not to recruit, but to educate our students on what the Army does.

Several Army veterans participated in program: Major General David Colburn, who is the top U.S. Army General and Director of Finances for the US Army; Lieutenant General Gregory; First Class Sergeant Vaccariello; Captain White, Aide to General Colburn; and Sergeant Bohrmann. Each spoke about their position, their connection to the world, their journeys through high school to the Army, and how the Army has impacted their college and career paths. The overriding message: always pursue your dreams.
