The Indian Hill School District celebrates students from Indian Hill High School and Indian Hill Middle School who delivered an outstanding performance at the recent Ohio Junior Classical League (OJCL) Convention, earning third place overall out of 22 schools. The annual convention brings together Latin students from across Ohio to compete in a wide range of academic, artistic, and creative contests celebrating classical language and culture.
“Our students earned the highest ranking and point total the school has achieved since 2018; it was a true team effort with students from both the middle school and high school contributing to our results,” said Melissa Burgess, Indian Hill High School Latin teacher. “The Braves demonstrated not only their academic excellence but also their enthusiasm, creativity, and teamwork. We are incredibly proud of how they represented Indian Hill throughout the entire weekend.”
Over the course of the weekend, students participated in numerous events designed to test their knowledge of Latin, Roman history and mythology, and classical civilization while also showcasing creative talents.
“This is one of the most exciting events of the year for our Latin students,” said Sean Minion, Indian Hill Middle School Latin teacher. “The amount they accomplish in just a few days is remarkable. Their hard work, preparation, and passion for the classics truly showed in their results.”
